The Duo, which has been sold since 2003, has been a longtime best-seller from a company that makes almost two dozen different diaper bags. Just about every retailer we visited—chains, boutiques, and consignment stores, plus online retailers—carried this bag. Parents can pick from a dozen neutral or bold, graphic prints, and on some colors the interior is made of a light-colored fabric so that you can easily see what’s inside (not all diaper bags have gotten the memo on this).

This was especially true when it came to feeding. Originally, I told myself we would breastfeed―exclusively. I had built up the idea in my mind that this was the correct way of feeding my child, and that anything else was somehow cheating. Plus, I love the connection it brought us, and so many of my favorite early memories are just my baby and me (at all hours of night), as close as two people can be as I fed her from my breast. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/e3/81/e9/e381e9ad642d42a700327e1f6261b78e---ideas-thirty-one.jpg
With four elastic pockets inside, two side-zip pockets, and two interior elastic pen pockets, the Super Swap-It Pocket is a fabulous way to organize and carry small items. From tablet and smart phone accessories to receipts, gift cards, planners and more, this essential organizing insert can travel on its own or fit neatly inside a larger tote or bag to keep contents squared away. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/a5/6c/76/a56c7621770a2237f37c5a3cd97a2cea.jpg
Want to babywear but still need to carry a diaper bag—is that even possible? Yes, it is. It’s also safe and can be comfortable when done right. You just need a front carry baby carrier and a backpack style diaper bag. Put your carrier on first, then put your baby inside the carrier and finally put your backpack diaper bag on. When your child is bigger and you switch to a back carry position, you can also wear a backpack diaper bag on your front. It may not look the best, but it can work if you need it to.
Do you like the SkipHop Grand Central, but think it's a bit too pricey? Then this tote diaper bag is definitely the next-best option for you. This awesome diaper bag, the SOHO Grand Central, is similarly styled with some very similar functionalities, but at about half the price. While the SkipHop has most features integrated right into the bag, this one takes a different approach and has them as separate pieces. There's a separate zippered and insulated baby bottle bag, a separate diaper clutch (for disposable or cloth diapers, of course!), changing pad, toiletries bag, and a little wallet. It has 5 different little bags for various things, it took a while to figure out what it was all about. But once we did, we loved it. Being able to take everything out separately is a different style, but we got used to it and ended up liking it. Going to the register at Starbucks? Just bring the wallet part. Going to a bench to bottle feed? Just bring the bottle pouch. It made some sense, and also made cleaning a bit easier when you can wash each part separately. Like the SkipHop it has zippered front pockets, convenient side exterior pockets for pacifiers, and is overall about the same size as the SkipHop, though the opening did stretch a bit wider overall. It includes some stroller straps, which are a nice touch, though definitely use caution with a heavy diaper bag to prevent the stroller from tipping over backwards. The quality isn't quite on par with the SkipHop, especially in terms of the inner liner, seams, and zippers, but we thought at about half the price it deserved a high spot on our best diaper bags list. Highly recommended! Interested? Check out the SOHO Grand Central diaper bag here.
So why buy an actual diaper bag? They’re thoughtfully designed with right-size pockets for essential baby gear, and made with tough material that’s easy to clean—inevitably, milk or juice will spill inside, and crushed crackers will find their way into crevices. Mine has been tossed around in my car, dumped on park benches and dragged across wet grass. I once accidentally left a banana peel in it for a few days. “The diaper bag is for the diapering years,” said Meg Collins, founder of Lucie’s List, a blog that recommends essential baby products for new parents. “It’s meant to keep you organized and sane. You have go-to pockets for your keys, diapers and wipes. You don’t have to think or fumble.” That just may help you escape the house a little more quickly. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/d1/13/ab/d113ab6c1427abe3bbfbc78957566c7b--initials-inc-occasion.jpg
The Zip-Top Organizing Utility Tote (ZOUT) is designed to make life easier for you. With seven exterior pockets, there isn’t much this versatile tote can’t hold. Take it with you on your trip to the beach, pool or park, or add a Fold N’ File to take your office or school work with you while keeping it all organized. Use it as a diaper bag when you’re out and about with the baby. When you’re at home, use it to organize your car, basement, closets, or laundry room.
“Since 2016, we have been proudly partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in support of life changing behavioral health research and are now proud to join the On Our Sleeves movement with our family of more than 60,000 independent sales consultants across the U.S. to break mental health stigmas and support children everywhere,” said Cindy Monroe, Founder & CEO, Thirty-One Gifts.
This bag is designed to be worn as a backpack: It has ergonomically padded shoulder straps and a padded back panel with breathable mesh. Pack it full and your guy (or you) will still be comfortable. It also includes adjustable stroller straps and comes with a changing pad and a sundry bag. Gear-happy guys will love the 14 pockets that this bag boasts, so all of baby’s creams, pacis, and toys can stay organized and in place. There’s even a dedicated wipes pocket for easy access and an insulated bottle pocket. https://i.pinimg.com/170x/af/8b/fd/af8bfd035e13e56c5753107b2684479d--lets-get-nauti-bachelorette-bachelorette-ideas.jpg
From the moment we opened the box, we fell in love with this top-rated Skip Hop diaper bag! It perfectly demonstrates the intersection between style and functionality. For moms with style, it uses a classy New York style colors and black stripe pattern, with light brown leather accents. We loved the look of this tote diaper bag style. But we were even more impressed by the functionality. This baby diaper bag gets things done. It is big, well-made, and has a ton of pockets (11 to be exact). For pockets, let's start on the outside: it has insulated side pockets that were big enough to fit even the widest baby bottles and keep stored at a nicely controlled temperature. Above those on the sides are some small pockets that were very easily accessible and perfect spot for keeping pacifiers. On the front, it has zippered pockets, which we thought were great for mom's personal stuff: car keys, a small wallet, or cell phone. The inside is vast and well-lined for durability and easy cleaning. It has a huge center space, which is perfect for diapers, wipes, changing pads (it comes with a great one!), and toys. A clever divider is put in between the outside handles and the main inside space, which provides even more storage space. These were great for more upright things that you want to slide up & out quickly like diaper cream, sunscreen, and lotion. Overall, we absolutely loved this bag, and it performed very well in our testing for durability, and we think it is very deserving of this spot on our diaper bag list! Cons? A bit pricey, usually around $75. Highly recommended! Interested? Check out the SkipHop Grand Central diaper bag here. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2f/bd/3d/2fbd3de107872c7114caab7b497f2a1e.jpg

This is our highest-ranking convertible diaper bag, and we love the style and functionality of this versatile and relatively unisex diaper bag system. The bag converts from a regular over-the-shoulder diaper bag, to a messenger bag, and to a super comfortable backpack with soft shoulder pads. So just when your arm or shoulder is getting sore, you can untuck the backpack straps from the side pocket, and off you go, in style and comfort. But it's not just versatile. This diaper bag is also super functional. It has outside and inside pockets, 3M baby bottle insulator pockets, and clever see-through plastic pockets inside so you can see what you're looking for before you go searching. It's relatively small, but we found it big enough for one baby, and the fact that you can open the main compartment nice and wide really helps you fit all your things in (and prevents you from randomly searching for things). But it does have a few drawbacks, given its high price (like $170). For this price, we would expect a bit higher quality on the fabrics and zippers. They're good, but not quite on par with the heavier duty zippers of a SOHO bag, or the easy-clean fabrics of a SkipHop bag. So while it's on our list of best diaper bags, and we think it's worthy of inclusion, these drawbacks will keep it a bit lower in our reviews and ratings. Interested? Sold at Nordstrom and other upscale retailers, the Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags (and backpack diaper bags) are among the most popular, super-stylish, and high quality diaper bags available on the market. The styles are awesome and range from quilted black with gold trim, to flowers and abstract watercolors. The designs are subtle and give the bags a high-end look. And the price tends to reflect that, with this Boxy Backpack model coming in at just over $150, making it the most expensive diaper bag option on our list! Its price is almost justified by its high quality and functionality. The bag we tried, the Indigo model pictured to the right, was made right here in the USA of cotton canvas that has a durable glazed coating on it for stain and water resistance. For functionality, this bag is really large, coming in at about 0.90 cubic feet of capacity. For pockets, there are several inside (8 of them), including two with zippers, and 3 outside (two for baby bottles on the side, and one larger one on the front that holds the included diaper changing station and pad). So, there's tons of space inside, and plenty of pockets for organizing baby care products, and the top opens up nice and wide for easy access. In terms of versatility, it also has several carrying options. You can carry it like a tote using the top grab handle, or use it as an over the shoulder diaper bag, backpack diaper bag, or attach to the stroller using the included stroller straps. It looks best as a shoulder diaper bag, but when you get sore it's great to have the option to wear it as a backpack. In our testing, we found the bag to be generally high quality, stylish, versatile, functional, and really large. It stands on end on its own, which is really nice - in other words, it doesn't tend to topple over like some other diaper bags. Maybe that's why it's called the Boxy model since the bottom is pretty boxy and stable. We also liked that it came with a sleek plastic baby wipe holder or diaper tote that made trips to the changing table much easier. There's really a lot to love about this diaper bag - but is the price worth it? Well, there were some limitations to the bag we purchased for testing. First, we were surprised that there was no insulated pocket for bottles or foods, not even the bottle pockets on the sides have any insulation. Second, the fabric is available in cotton canvas, embossed stitching, and a plush chenille. We actually only tested the cotton canvas, but we made the mistake of putting it in the washing machine after a milk spill, and the bag fell apart a bit - some of the stitching came loose, and it seemed like the bag lost some of its water resistance. So that was a bummer. Finally, the backpack straps aren't padded so they're not the most comfortable straps in the world - same with the shoulder strap. So definitely some limitations that might make you reconsider whether the style and Petunia Pickle Bottom name recognition are worth the price? We'll let you decide! Interested? To find you the most stylish and functional diaper bag of 2019, we put 27 diaper bags to the test! We stuffed them with baby products, tossed them on the ground, tried out the insulated baby bottle pockets, spilled milk in them, forced the zipper open and shut, and put a 25-pound weight inside to make sure the fabric and straps were durable and comfortable. We found about a dozen great diaper bags, most of which come in several different colors and patterns - so don't judge only by the picture we provide! Here are the top 5 diaper bags we found, followed by in-depth reviews of about a dozen different options.

After carrying a dozen top-rated diaper bags on nearly 50 assorted outings for more than a month, we’re sure the Skip Hop Duo Signature is the best diaper bag for most parents. This versatile bag makes it easier to store, organize, and quickly access all your necessary baby gear than any other bag we tested. It has nearly all the features of a great diaper bag at a price as low as almost everything else out there.
It has plenty of interior and exterior pockets to organize all our stuff (even for all 3 kids). It has shoulder straps and a removable cross-body strap, it has clips to attach it so a stroller, it zips closed (and has a couple zippered outside pockets), it’s big enough but not TOO big, and it’s super cute! In fact, most people don’t even realize it’s a diaper bag until they see the sippy cups popping out! https://i.pinimg.com/236x/25/86/ff/2586ffcafb47b93e191c9de1aa93b6d0--swarovski-polyvore.jpg

No matter which style you choose, you should think about how you'll be able to put it onto one of our best strollers: down in the stroller's basket, or would you like to hang it on the stroller's handlebars? If the latter, you should go ahead and buy a diaper bag that includes stroller straps, like several of our top-rated bags. We suspect you'll use that feature a lot. Of course, always use caution when hanging the diaper bag on the handlebars of your stroller: when you take your baby out, the stroller will flip over backwards (unless the bag is super light)! So definitely make sure that the stroller you choose has a nice large basket to fit your diaper bag. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/dc/1c/e8/dc1ce83eff5645ec01292822ca5c10c6.jpg
I sell it so I'm a little biased BUT I would recommend the Organizing Utility Tote.  I used one as a diaper bag BEFORE I started selling it so I loved it before it paid to love it.  A lot of the women in my church use the Organizing Utility tote for diaper bags.  I also used the Cindy tote for awhile since I was a FTM (first time mom) that overpacked for everything.
I loved the SkipHop when we had two kids, but it didn’t hold up well and I decided a back pack was a must. As my younger boys grew, I’d take one of their Pottery Barn backpacks to amusement parks, MLB games, the zoo, etc. They worked great for these trips but I wasn’t a fan of the robots or Spider-Man. For baby number 3, I got a Vera Bradley backpack that I love. The laptop compartment is perfect for a changing pad, diapers, and wipes. The rest of the bag has a good amount of pockets. Also because it’s not technically a diaper bag, I will continue using it as needed after we are out of the baby stage. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f1/6c/fa/f16cfa453e98f0e83a14c2f8b25c341a.jpg
“It is time to break the silence about children’s mental health and with the support of mission-driven partners like Thirty-One Gifts, together, we can set the foundation for helping children not just in our own backyard, but also provide critical resources to children and families around the country,” said Niki Shafer, senior vice president, Outreach, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Finding the perfect 31 Gifts product in a color or pattern that clashes with your style is a big letdown - but it’s a problem that never needs to happen when you view the 31 Gifts catalog. With several different prints available for each item, even your base selection will reflect your style preferences! From there, embroidered personalization adds initials, names or phrases, allowing you to pick even more options - thread color, font, symbols and more - to truly personalize your product. Thirty One Gifts’ collegiate line makes a wonderful gift or special self-indulgence for college sports fans, and even Fido can get in on the fun with beautiful leashes that match popular Thirty One Gifts patterns. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/6a/37/18/6a37187079ed6cb81126967023745e66.jpg
This tote caught my eye on the website with the three separate compartments and extra pockets for organizing, but I really had no idea how much I would love this bag until I took it with me a few times to church and running errands around town.  I can hold EVERYTHING I need in this one bag with room to spare!  My Suite Success Tote was packed to the brim today and I dumped everything out and took a picture to show you how much you can put inside this bag.  I am even missing an outfit (the baby’s change of clothes got used today, and our snacks got eaten before the picture so add that stuff in your mind too.)
I spent entirely too much time looking for the perfect diaper bag. I narrowed it down to three and this one was 50% off so I got it! I’ve had it for 3 months with baby and I love it! Has a good amount of room that I can fit all my babe’s items (diapers, wipes, bottles, extra clothes, blanket, changing pad, a toy) along with my wallet, keys & phone. My husband likes that it’s black and doesn’t look like a diaper bag. The ONLY bad thing is I tend to pack heavy when we go on a day trip and when I ... read more Click to read full text of review titled "Perfect size for on the go". https://i.pinimg.com/236x/30/d8/62/30d8627983d3f422412d022486e0c9a4--red-floor-red-skirts.jpg
This is one of the biggest bang-for-the-buck diaper bags on this list, with great style and functionality. Note that if you don't like the pinkish coral color, it comes in a ton of additional styles. This diaper bag is a hand-tote that converts into a comfortable diaper backpack. It's very large, though not as large as the SkipHop or SOHO, but it's definitely large and functional enough for most purposes. What we loved about it is that it's only like 35 bucks, and it has some features that make it competitive with the best bags on this list. It has side pockets, one of which has a slit in it so it can dispense baby wipes! It also has a zippered mom pocket on the outside that can fit keys and a phone, and the top zippered compartment is really quite big and well-divided into a main space for diapers, cloths, clothing, toys, etc. It also has a zippered mom pocket on the inside, and an insulated zippered baby bottle pocket on the front that can fit up to 3 bottles (mostly the modern short and wide ones, not the classic tall and narrow ones). It has a clever way of dividing its space, as you can use the front pocket for just bottles, or you can push it back into the main compartment and use it for much larger things. That will end up being a separate space at the bottom of the main compartment, and this works out well because it brings the bottom of the main compartment up much higher (which makes it less likely to lose things in the depth). Overall, we found this diaper backpack to be really excellent for the relatively low price. Don't expect super high quality hand-feel for the fabrics at this price, or expect anything fancy like stroller straps or removable zippered pockets, but we think you'll be surprised with what they've pulled off! Interested? You can check out the HaloVa diaper bag here.
Hoskins also believes that having to get in and out of bed to get to your baby in the night is good for moms who might be otherwise reluctant to move while recovering from C-sections. If you don't move, the risk of blood clots in the legs increases. "An advantage of being forced to get up for the baby is that it forces the mother to move her legs — it's a big plus. However painful it can be, it's important for new moms to move rather than remaining in their hospital beds."
2) I'm letting go of guilt because...the right bottle will prevent any discomfort. It took us a bit of trial and error to find the right bottle that worked for my baby, but once we did, we rarely dealt with gas or discomfort―and the convenience of being able to pack along a meal for my child meant she never had to wait to eat when she was hungry. Dr. Brown's became my partner in this process, offering a wide variety of bottles and nipples designed to mimic the flow of my own milk and reduce colic and excess spitting up. When we found the right one, it changed everything.
I was also sent the adorable icon coin purses to review, and they are so fun!  All of my three kids got one to put on their backpacks for lunch money or chapstick.  They love that they have a special place for their important items and it really helps them to keep track of their lunch money better.  I like that you can mix and match the coin purses with the whimsical characters and bright colors.  They look great on a black bag as a pop of color or on a child’s backpack.  They are also the perfect size for a pacifier holder on your diaper bag!

While the Thirty One Gifts catalog shows beautiful traditional purses, they are only a small part of the impressive product catalog made available to lucky 31 Gifts party goers. From large totes that are ideal to bring along to the beach to small organizational pouches for home use, shoppers enjoy the selection of fabrics, embroidery customization options and matching accessories available for each product. With a color and pattern palette that greets each season with exciting new offerings and secret hostess-exclusive items, there’s a little something for everyone under the Thirty One Gifts umbrella.

Also, pick a bag that will last you both in durability and style. If the bag only looks good with certain outfits, you'll find yourself frustrated or wanting to buy multiple bags. A black or red bag, or one with relatively neutral colors/patterns can work with nearly any outfit. Of course, some of the really stylish baby diaper bags can also get really expensive; so maybe dig into some of those gift cards you might have hanging around from your baby registry, or put your favorite on a new baby registry (see our best baby registries here) if you haven't had your baby yet! Finally, it's worth considering a diaper bag that is water resistant, to protect the bag's contents from damage during rain or accidentally being set on a wet surface. The Halova Diaper Bag Multifunction Waterproof Travel Backpack is a great example. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/04/bc/02/04bc02c000854efa606a842e485e3333.jpg
Over time, though, something started to shift. I realized I felt trapped by my daughter's feeding schedule. I felt isolated in the fact that she needed me―only me―and that I couldn't ask for help with this monumental task even if I truly needed it. While I was still so grateful that I was able to breastfeed without much difficulty, a growing part of me began fantasizing about the freedom and shared burden that would come if we bottle fed, even just on occasion. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/f5/7a/d8/f57ad8a24655fadfc35c66f2a072b680---ideas--bags-ideas.jpg
Aside from features and functionality, preferences and personal style will definitely attract some people to the B.F.F. The look of this bag is simply more suited to some people than the Skip Hop. And having tested both side by side, we consider each a good value. But let’s be honest, if you are ready to pay nearly $200 for a diaper bag, you’re probably not considering this against the Skip Hop. If it were our money, we’d rather buy this than one of the other similarly priced bags out there. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/b0/10/63/b010636f74d0d567f4c3c58cdd763a79--thirty-one-organizations.jpg

Over the last 4.5 years, we have tried more diaper bags than I can count. Many were purchased online and immediately returned. Others were given to us as gifts, to review on the blog, or as hand-me-downs from friends. They were either used for a while, sold on Craigslist, or returned to the store — depending on the situation. Some were too big, many were too small, some looked too much like a purse for Dave, others didn’t have enough pockets for me, etc. etc.

Expecting twins? Skip Hop’s signature Duo diaper bag comes in a bigger model that’s perfect for parents of multiples or those with two under two. The Duo Double’s generous size—it’s 18 inches long and 13.25 inches high—and 16 pockets (including two insulated bottle pockets) make it an ideal diaper bag for parents who need to tote around two of everything. Plus, the Duo Double boasts that it’s the only diaper bag designed for specifically for side-by-side double strollers. (In fact, it’s not for use with single strollers). It also has tote straps and a removable messenger strap, as well as an included changing pad. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/a3/47/bf/a347bf2ced6eda05a0f3ddecb8982a4e--thirty-one-organization-ideas.jpg
Skip Hop makes some excellent diaper bags, and this one is no exception. The Skip Hop Duo Signature has a slightly more modern styling than the classic lines and colors of the Grand Central models, and is shaped more like a tote or over-the-shoulder bag than it is a purse. It's narrow and deep rather than wide and short, and a bit smaller overall than the purse-shaped models, so it's good for someone who doesn't want to be lugging around a truly enormous diaper bag. It's also about the same width as most strollers, so it doesn't stick out on the sides a lot when you hang it on the handlebars. But while it's smaller overall, it's still super functional. It has 10 pockets, a separate insulated bottle holder, a breathable side pocket, a key ring clip, diaper changing pad, and a great interior liner. The Skip Hop Duo's main interior pocket is super deep and we loved the lining, it was soft but also rugged enough to make wipe-cleaning easy. The padded shoulder strap was comfortable, as were the padded carry-handles. We were able to fit everything in that we needed, including diapers, wipes, baby bottles, and cloths. Being relatively tall, we found that when it was fully loaded it did tend to topple over sometimes. We also found it less convenient to reach in and easily grab something, since things tended to get stacked on top of one another, so this design might not be for everyone. Also, the changing pad was a bit small relative to some others on this list. So, this Skip Hop Duo Signature model is an excellent diaper bag, with some minor drawbacks. Note that Skip Hop also makes a Skip Hop Duo Diaper Backpack that is very similar to this but in the backpack style, and is also very well-reviewed. Interested?
