One of my teammates just shared a great way that she is using our new Thirty-One Gives program, where money from the sale of the URU Thermal Tote (in the picture below) is donated to support women, especially organizations that help increase self esteem of young girls.

Here’s the story from my teammate Susan:

Wanted to share with you some fun with Thirty-One that I was a part of in our local girl scout troop.

February was international self esteem month and when they introduced the URU thermal at spring product premiere and shared that a girls self esteem peaks at age 9 I knew that I had to get the message of URU out to our girls.  My daughter is 9 and that statistic really hit a nerve. 

I contacted our local college and scheduled two Leadership studies students to talk to the group.  They had fun activities for the girls and talked about self respect, respecting others, and loving yourself for who you are on the inside and out. 

Each girl received a personalized URU thermal tote from me.  I am so blessed to be able to do this as a part of my business.  The girls all loved their totes and when you GIVE you ALWAYS get back more than you can ever imagine.

This summer, we are adding a URU Cinch Sac and a URU Mini Wristlet to our Thirty-One Gives line of products, plus, guests are able to round up their order to the nearest dollar and the extra cents goes to our Thirty-One Gives philanthropic efforts as well!

I love being a part of a company that is all about Celebrating, Encouraging, and Rewarding women!

I had a fantastic time attending the Thirty-One Spring 2012 Product Premiere with my local Vermont team.  We drove 3 1/2 hours to Albany, New York to attend and had a great time carpooling back and forth, and got to chat the entire way there and back!  And all across the country our other teammates were attending their local Spring Product Premieres too!

When we arrived at the theater in Albany, we were ushered back to one of the theaters to watch the entire product premiere on the big screen, which was so fun!  And, when it was all done, we took home a few new spring products – the new Mini Utility Bin in Lotsa Dots and the new Essentials Crossbody in Black – BIG thanks to our amazing company…Thirty-One Gifts!!

After getting a closer look at the catalog, one of my teammates discovered something fun … my name was in the catalog on a sample notecard!  And it was spelled correctly and everything :)  That was really neat!

I can’t wait for our spring selling season to begin on February 1, 2012!!  Lots of great patterns and new products that I absolutely LOVE!

Sponsor a Child in Jesus Name with Compassion
Each month I donate a portion of my income from Thirty-One to Compassion International.  So, I thought I would introduce you to my Compassion children, and give a little background on why being a child advocate with Compassion is important to me.

I’ve always wanted to sponsor a child and make a difference in someone’s life. So, on Mother’s Day 2010, I started my Compassion International journey when I sponsored Christine.

Christine is 12 years old now and lives in Kenya. She is a joy, and I love receiving letters and drawings from her. She is quite the talented artist. Christine does well in school and I enjoy reading about her progress.

Then came Travis. In March of 2011, I was thinking of sponsoring another child and was looking through the photos on the Compassion web site and Travis just jumped off the page right into my heart. His soft smile was just precious.

Travis is 6 years old and enjoys playing soccer. He also lives in Kenya. I have also been blessed to receive several letters from Travis where he told me about his joy in receiving a pair of pants, shoes, shirt and cups for his birthday. He was overjoyed. Travis also draws sweet pictures and is writing his name and doing well in school.

And then there was Mueni. In May of 2011, I was volunteering at a Compassion concert with Michael W. Smith and as I was placing the child packets on the table, I saw that Mueni shares a birthday with one of my family members. So, she joined my Compassion family that day.

Mueni is 5 and loves to play with other children. She is also in school and doing well. And we have received some precious letters and drawings from Mueni too. And she also lives in Kenya (Kenya holds a special place in my heart and always has.).

These three are my Compassion children (so far…) and I love them as much as my own. I have been so moved by my experience with Compassion that I decided to become an Advocate with them, because I believe in their mission and can see the difference they are making in the lives of countless children. Compassion is rated as excellent and a full 83% of the dollars you donate go directly to the children (10% fundraising, 7% administration).

In the past few months, God has really placed it upon my heart to go and see what Compassion is doing in Kenya first hand. To go and see the churches that Compassion works through, and of course, to see my children.

Will you help me?

It is my goal to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of the trip to Kenya with Compassion before my next birthday on September 24, 2012, and then travel in 2013 with Compassion.

I must tell you I am totally in LOVE with one of Thirty-One’s new fall purses: The 5th Avenue!  I love that there is so much room!  There are three pockets – two snap closure giant pockets (with some small inner pockets too!) and one zipper closure giant pocket in the middle.

I had a lot of errands to run, and I had my 5th Avenue bag packed full!  The iPad (from Best Buy shopping trip!), my Kindle, and a notebook were in the middle pocket.  My wallet, cell phone and essentials (in a Mini Zipper Pouch) in an outside pocket, and receipts and items to return in the other outside pocket!  Love it!

I am so blessed and thankful for being with Thirty-One!  I love being a consultant and Thirty-One has already been a blessing to our family, and many more on my team!  It’s so fun to see lives changed!

On a recent team call, one of our teammates Barb Reberg was sharing a great booking idea!  Barb takes a colorful folder and turns it into a fun booking tool!

When you open the folder, on the left side, you will see the host specials, and on the right side, you will see bright post-it notes that highlight special gifts for people who book a show.  If you want to be date specific, just put the date on the outside flap of the post it note, or if you want to reuse these month after month (as Barb does), put generic booking “dates” (like “Book a show in the second week of the month”) inside the post it note.  Either way, the extra free gift is also noted inside the post it note!

My hostess  and new recruit files, all forms, and things I need for parties such as catelogs, a stapler, calculator, measuring tape all fit nicely and are easily transported. I keep my planner in the front, business cards on one side, celebrate and thank you cards on the other side, I even have two 8 x 10 frames in there and use them for the monthly special flyers that are available on  Thirty One Today. This way everything I need besides my other sample products is readily available and not forgotten.

Although Connie is a Thirty-One consultant on my team, this concept would work for anyone in direct sales or even for just household files too!
